A Proposal Story
A couple of months ago, Spencer's mom Bette, reached out to me and asked if I could capture her son's secret proposal in October. Because Bette lives in Texas and Spencer lives in New York, I helped coordinate a plan of attack that wouldn't raise any hairs on Emily.
Leading up to just 10 minutes before the BIG moment- Spencer texted me what they were wearing and to let me know that they were on their way. I sat at the streetcar terminal on North Rampart, watching and waiting. I strapped on my gear and saw as they approached. I decided to pretend that I was taking pictures of the street and the Louis Armstrong Park sign- which actually worked out well, because when the moment finally came and Spencer dropped down on one knee- Emily was blown away! I was so excited for them and kept clicking as I approached; being careful to not get hit by any cars.
I introduced myself to them both, after catching all of the excitement, shock, and awe. Emily was shining brightly! We walked into the French Quarter, snapping shots along the way. Being both Broadway Actors and Spencer- coming from a family of photographers- these two were natural at posing.
I loved hearing the story of how they met on stage and seeing the wonderment in Spencer's eyes, as he gazed over at Emily- was truly something to capture.
"Onward to your adventure. I hope it is a good one!"
